About Rentable Spaces
Rentable Spaces is all about providing people with the extra space that they need, at home or at work, when they need it. With a rental sleepout or cabin, you only have the building there when you need it. If you don’t need it anymore, we simply come and take it away.
While the cabins and sleepouts for hire come in several types and sizes and have plenty of space for use as extra accommodation, a home office, studio, playroom for the kids, etc. We pride ourselves on all our Rentable Spaces being warm, dry, comfortable, and easy to heat. They have even got double glazed doors and windows.
How did the cabin rentals business start?
Rentable Spaces came about as an offshoot of Able Spaces, our sister business that makes prefabricated, transportable homes.
As we started constructing and selling prefabricated portable buildings to people, we realised that there were people who needed extra space at their homes or businesses but didn’t need it permanently.
We also quickly realised that the construction system that we used for Able Spaces was also perfect for making high quality, warm, dry, and comfortable cabins and sleepouts to hire out.
As a result, we started constructing a number of smaller sleepouts for hire and cabin rentals including self-contained cabins.
When Able Spaces needed to move to a new location for the construction of houses, we secured a site in Upper Hutt that was perfect for both building prefab houses and getting them ready for transport. We had a lot of extra space at the site though, and provision of Upper Hutt storage units and storage space seemed like a good service to offer the people of the Hutt and the wider Wellington region.

Lance was born and bred in the Hutt Valley and has over 25 years of experience in the construction industry.
He is pleased to be offering people of the Manawatu, Wairarapa and Greater Wellington region warm, comfortable and affordable rental cabins and sleepouts, as well as safe and secure storage options in Upper Hutt.
